Hillary Clinton Gets Misty
Looks like Hillary’s resorting to every woman’s secret weapon: turning on the waterworks (or Hillary’s equivalent, a slight cracking of the voice):
Related to this, I hear a lot of interviews with women about why or why not women are behind Hillary versus Obama (who is apparently more popular with the younger lasses). Commentators on CNN raised the “insight” that Hillary’s emotional display may help engender empathy with women… presumably women voters prefer a president who cries about shit. I haven’t heard them asking many guys what they think about it. I for one, don’t find it very presidential.
President Woodrow Wilson reportedly broke down and wept after reluctantly securing the vote to enter WWI. He was crying over world war. Hillary’s getting misty over running for her party’s nomination. Toughen up, Hillary.
Update: Apparently the question Clinton was responding to was this: “My question is very personal, how do you do it? How do you, how do you keep upbeat and so wonderful?” along with some references to Clinton’s hair and appearance. It almost makes me want to cry too, but for a different reason.
Update #2: I’ve heard from two different sources that the lady who asked Hillary the aforementioned question told reporters afterward that she is an Obama supporter. Natch!
