Al Qaeda declares ‘failure and defeat’ for U.S. troops in Iraq - CNN.com
One of the oft-repeated reasons given by John McCain that we cannot “prematurely” withdraw from Iraq is that if we do, al Qaeda will claim victory, for the purposes of propaganda. Well, they’re claiming it anyway:
Marking the fifth anniversary of the invasion of Iraq, al Qaeda’s media arm released an audio recording, purportedly from the group’s second-in-command, saying U.S. troops there have failed.
