A new evil has descended upon the internet. Not quite as annoying as pop up ads, but at least as insidious. That evil: rollover ads.
I’ve noticed a number of Flash-based banner ads that popover the browser window when you roll over them. So far I’ve mostly seen this on facebook while playing Mob Wars. The insidious part is that all it takes is a wayward swipe of the mouse to trigger this nonsense.

Apparently, Nader believes that Barack Obama’s 50% blackness makes it incumbent upon the presidential nominee to focus on the “ghettos”. Despite having spoken out against predatory lending (including payday loans, etc.) it simply is not enough to befit his black half.
Sure, Obama didn’t grow up in a ghetto… he was raised in Hawaii by white parents and grandparents, and spent some time in Indonesia. But that was Obama’s white half. Meanwhile, Obama’s black half was growing up in the ghettos of Chicago, sipping on Schlitz, running with gangs and witnessing first hand the ravages of asbestos and lead upon his fellow black youth. Why is Obama hiding this half of his heritage?
…or maybe it’s just the case that Ralph Nader is a soggy douche.

The AP is calling the Democratic nomination for Obama. News networks remain a little more cautious, waiting for more public declarations by superdelegates. Either way, it should only be a matter of time now before it’s official (or as official as it gets before the Denver convention).
